Issue Summary
After an upgrade to Jira 10.x, Automation For Jira (A4J) is showing as incompatible in the page ⚙ > Manage Apps > Manage Apps with the message below:
This app is not compatible with your JIRA instance. Request an update from the vendor.
Notes
- All Jira 10.x versions are affected.
- This error is harmless and can be safely ignored
- This issue is caused by the following factors:
- From 10.x, A4J jar files are no longer added the A4J Listing on the Marketplace, as mentioned in Jira Data Center automation release notes
- Since the UPM (Universal Plugin Manager) queries the Atlassian Marketplace to determine if an App is compatible with Jira, and since new A4J versions are no longer listed there, the UPM shows the "incompatible" error
- From 10.x, A4J jar files are no longer added the A4J Listing on the Marketplace, as mentioned in Jira Data Center automation release notes
Steps to replicate
- Install Jira Software Data Center on any version 10.x (for example 10.3.0)
- Go to the page ⚙ > Manage Apps > Manage Apps
- Search for "Automation For Jira" and filter with "All Apps"
- Expand the "Automation For Jira" app
Expected Results
The A4J app should show as compatible.
Actual Results
The A4J app shows as incompatible.
Workaround
There is currently no workaround to fix this error. However, it can be safely ignored, since A4J 10.x versions are in fact compatible with the respective Jira 10.x versions.
