Background / Current Behaviour
When a customer migrates from one identity provider (IDP) / SSO method to another (for example, from Google to Okta), part of the migration process involves programmatically disabling and re-enabling users. This disable/re-enable is not initiated by the customer’s admins, but is an internal step in the IDP migration flow to realign identities.
We currently have a feature/behaviour where, when a user is disabled and later re-enabled, their alert notification configuration is removed. As a result, during an IDP migration:
- Affected users are disabled/re-enabled as part of the migration, and
- All of these users lose their alert notification configuration.
This leads to users unexpectedly missing critical alerts until their notification methods are manually reviewed and reconfigured.
Requested Change / Feature
Add a capability to preserve user alert notification configuration when users are disabled/re-enabled as part of an IDP / SSO migration.
