If a user does not have a profile picture/avatar configured Atlassian generates one automatically that consists of the first letter of the first and last words in the name.
i.e. *A*ndrew *D*elaney becomes AD

However customers sometimes include other information in the name field, leading to these avatars being inconsistent or odd. For example they may include the department, or country, and these then throw off the initials.
*A*ndrew Delaney (*S*upport) results in AS
*A*ndrew Delaney (*A*ustralia) results in AA

It would be great to have an org level setting to adjust how these autogenerated avatars are created and formatted.
