User Problem
Users are unable to add multiple authenticator apps to their Atlassian account.
Suggested Solution
To enhance security and provide greater flexibility, allow users to add multiple authenticator apps to their Atlassian accounts. This functionality is similar to what is available in other platforms like OKTA, where users can register multiple devices as authenticators. By enabling users to link more than one authenticator app, they can ensure access continuity in case one device is lost or unavailable. This approach not only improves user convenience but also strengthens account security by providing backup authentication options
Workaround
Currently, a viable workaround for users who need to set up multiple devices for multi-factor authentication is to acquire an Atlassian Guard Subscription. With this subscription, users can configure their Identity Provider (IdP) to support multiple devices for authentication. By integrating Atlassian with an IdP under the Guard Subscription, users can set up various authentication methods and devices depending on the IdP being used, providing them with the flexibility and security they require.
[ID-8802] Users can set up multi-factor authentication on only one device for their Atlassian Account.
