User not found error when trying to add existing user to Teams

      Issue Summary

      When adding an existing user to a Team, if they are from a different domain then you may get the following error:

      This occurs if you have not yet interacted with the person (such as liking a comment, @ mentioning their name, etc.)

      Environment

      • Atlassian Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Invite a user, and have them accept their invite.
      2. Attempt to add them to a Team, without having interacted with them.
      3. The user is not found.

      Expected Results

      Expected results would be that the user is found

      Actual Results

      The user is not found and the above error message is displayed:

      We couldn't find any people or teams.

      Workaround

      Interact with the user or their content in some way, and then you will be able to add them to the Team.
