Description
Problem Definition
Atlassian Cloud support 22 languages, but Identity services do not. The following services/features should be translated into languages other than English:
- Login
- User Management
- Migrate to Atlassian account (portal customers)
- Invitation, verification and password reset emails.
- Invitation/Verification emails is the first email that our users get from Atlassian
Suggested Solution
- Offer language packs for Identity services.
Why this is important
- Atlassian supports language packs, so verification, password reset and invitation emails should also support multiple languages.
- User Managment should also support multiple languages.
- Multi-language support for Identity Services is critical to provide our customers unified localized user experience.
- Identity Serivces should keep user's language preference in addition to Country and Timezone.
- All applications can refer to user's language preference in the following order, recommendation :
- Site preference (user can set it as detecting browser setting automatically, auto-detection should be default)
- Browser preference
- Identity Service preference - keep user's language preference across our services, also used for product agnostic services like transaction emails, newsletter etc.
- Site default language.
