Summary
The 'Keep Me Signed In' Option Using GAPPS is No Longer Working after closing your browser. A user has to keep logging in everytime a browser is closed even though cookies are not cleared manually. This was working a couple of weeks ago (possibly related to the OAuth2 change).
Environment
- GAPPS enabled
Steps to Reproduce
- Make sure Google authentication is enabled in the environment
- Make sure the 'Keep me signed in' option is checked under the Google Apps login section
- Log in using the 'Sign In Using Google' option
- Once logged in, close the browser tab and then close the browser (make sure to quit)
- Reopen browser and navigate to the instance url
Expected Results
A user did not need to log in again when the browser was closed when using the Keep Me signed in option
Actual Results
A user is always prompted to login again when the browser is closed, regardless of time elapsed.
Notes
- multiple browsers tested (Chrome V42.0.2311.135, Firefox V37.0.2, IE 10,11)
- It looks like no Persistent cookie is created when signing in with Google like the ondemand.autologin cookie equivalent of Cloud login.
Solution / Workaround
Do not close the browser/log in again
