Looking at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/Specifying+a+User's+Aliases - it's currently supported in Crowd, but not OnDemand.
The issue is that since there is no company attribute (Confluence does but not others, e.g. JIRA), we have to set the username to user [company name] - however, the problem is, e.g. with Google Apps integration, we'll need to set this in Google Apps and effects emails and other Google Apps that we use (not just Atlassian products).
We need:
1. A consistent user profile across OnDemand and a way to show "company" as part of the user's Display name property without hacking the username attribute.
2. User alias to be configurable for OnDemand.
