This report concerns the German localization of the core Field TYPES in Confluence Databases. Please note that this is not about the customizable "Field Names" (which users can edit), but the hard-coded Field Type definitions in the product UI, which users cannot modify 1.

The current German terms are misleading and do not align with the functional purpose of these types:

      1. Field Type: "Tag"

      • Current Translation: "Tag"
      • Problem: In German, "Tag" literally means "Day." This causes significant confusion as users expect a date-related field rather than a categorization tool.
      • Suggested Replacements: Liste, Auswahlliste, Dropdownliste, or the industry-standard Label 2.

      2. Field Type: "Veröffentlicht"

      • Current Translation: "Veröffentlicht" (Published)
      • Problem: This term is too specific. While it can be used for publication dates, this field type is a general-purpose date picker used for birthdays, deadlines, or other dates entirely unrelated to "publishing" 3.
      • Suggested Replacement: Datum (Date). This provides the necessary flexibility for all use cases 4.

      Steps to Reproduce:

      1. Set Confluence language to German.
      1. Create a new Confluence Database.
      1. Click "+" to add a new field and view the available Field Types in the dropdown menu.

      Expected Result:
Field types should have clear, generic German names that describe their data structure (e.g., Datum for dates) rather than specific actions or misleading homonyms.
