Description
On the Connected Apps page (admin.atlassian.com), apps that have been behind the latest version for more than 6 weeks are flagged with an "OUTDATED" lozenge.
In the Japanese locale, this is currently translated as "期限切れ" (Kigen-gire)
Problem
The term "期限切れ" literally translates to "Expired" in English. Japanese-speaking administrators are interpreting this to mean that their app license or support entitlement has expired, rather than simply indicating that a newer software version is available.
This has resulted in customer confusion and unnecessary support tickets, as customers verify their billing is active but cannot reconcile it with the "Expired" status shown in the UI.
Environment
Admin Hub -> Connected Apps
Expected Results / Suggestion
The current translation leans too heavily into "deadline/expiration" (the "too old" implication) in a way that is technically incorrect for this context.
- Current String: 期限切れ (Expired)
- Recommended Replacement: 旧バージョン (Kyū-bājon)
- Meaning: "Old Version"
Rationale
Since there is already a separate "UPDATE" lozenge in the UI, using "旧バージョン" (Old Version) provides the most accurate and neutral description of the app's state without triggering false alarms regarding license validity. Other considered terms like "更新が必要" (Update Needed) were deemed too similar to the existing "Update" call-to-action.
