Summary

Noticeable delay for text input on Windows client running on remote desktop

Environment

• Remote Desktop environment
• HipChat Server
• HipChat Cloud
• HipChat Windows Client 4.0.x

Steps to Reproduce

1. While logged into the remote desktop environment, log into the HipChat Windows app 4.0.x
2. Type in the text box. The time the text takes to populate in the text box is delayed from the time you type on the keyboard.

Expected Results

The text populates inside the text box at a normal rate when typing.

Actual Results

The text populates the text box at a delayed rate, ranging from 1-10 seconds.

Notes

The severity increases with how many users are using the same HipChat app.

Workaround

The web app does not appear to be affected by this delay, so you can use that in the interim.
