Summary
Using TextExpander in the Mac client, and snippets are not always successful in expanding. The content of the snippet will be injected into the Abbreviation. Seems to happen more often with URLs, and less so with plain text.
Environment
(Optional - If Applicable)
- HipChat 4.0.X (4.0.8 in my testing)
- OSX 10.11.4
- TextExpander 5.1.4
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a snippet in TextExpander (note, URLs seem to exhibit the problem more often)
- Type the appropriate Abbreviation (;abbreviation) into the HipChat client
Expected Results
Abbreviation is deleted, only the content of the snippet is displayed
Actual Results
Part of the abbreviation remains, and the snippet is generally injected into it. Sometimes part of the snippet is even malformed. Video attached.
Workaround
Could not find reliable way to make TextExpander show snippets. Web client seems to handle this better.
