Description
Summary
When HipChat for JIRA is configured with JQL to filter for assignee, transitioning an issue through a workflow while modifying the assignee using a workflow issue screen does not trigger a HipChat notification.
If the assignee JQL criteria is met before starting the issue transition, the HipChat notification will fire, even if the assignee is updated to fail the JQL criteria during the transition using a workflow issue screen.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a test project with a test workflow.
- Associate a screen with a test transition
- Create a Hipchat integration with the JQL filter assignee = TestUser
- Create test issue
- Click workflow button to transition to test transition (associated with test transition screen).
- Modify the Assignee field, to match the assignee = TestUser JQL, on the workflow transition screen and complete the transition
Expected Results
A HipChat notification will fire, given that the JQL criteria is met when the issue is transitioned.
Actual Results
No HipChat notification is sent.
- No output occurs in the JIRA logs, indicating the HipChat notification isn't trying to fire.
- This only reproduces if you have a issue screen associated with the workflow transition. See Mapping a screen to a workflow transition.
- If you change the assignee to TestUser from the View issue screen, then transition the issue by hitting the workflow transition button, the notification fires.
Workaround
Change assignee from the view issue screen prior to transitioning the issue through the workflow.
