Description
Summary
- This bug ticket is raised from the original HCPUB-935 since the issue continues to occur even in the latest Windows client.
- HipChat Windows Desktop client randomly disconnects and fails to reconnect again
Environment
- HipChat Server 2.2.5
- Windows Desktop Client 4.30.3.1665
Steps to Reproduce
- Login through the Windows client with your HipChat Server credentials
- Randomly, the client will lose connection
Expected Results
- The client should retain the connectivity to the server at all times
- In the event that a disconnection occurs, the client will attempt to establish a reconnection until it is successful
Actual Results
- The client will disconnect randomly and it fails to reconnect
Notes
- The issue is specific to the desktop client only
Workaround
- Restart the client
- Log out and relogin again
How you can help
- In the Windows client, please add the CLI flag --connectionDebug according to the Enable logging section in this documentation and attach the log after you reproduce the issue
- Additionally, provide us with the DXDiag config as well by referring to the steps below:
- Open DirectX Diagnostic Tool by clicking the Start button in Windows
- Type dxdiag in the Search box, and press ENTER.
- Choose "Save All Information..." to save the resulting report.
- Add the DirectX Diagnostic report to your support ticket
