    Description

      At this time, HipChat for Android mobile client on Android 4.x and older cannot connect to HipChat Server 2.0.4 or 2.0.7+ due to the deprecation of TLS 1.0. TLS 1.2 is enabled by default in Android 5 hence users on this Android version are not affected. See this knowledgebase article for details.

      However, we could still enable/enforce TLS 1.2 in SSLSocketFactory and OkHttpClient for Android mobile client v4.x (see https://github.com/square/okhttp/issues/2372). This request is to enable/enforce that so Android 4.x can connect to HipChat Server via TLS 1.2.
