Summary
At first, let me explain how we type in double byte characters. When we type in double byte characters (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc), we type in some characters and IME shows candidates to change (to hanzi, Kanji, Hangul, respectively), and press "enter" key to submit the characters.
The bug is that there are unexpected behaviors in double byte "unsubmitted" characters (the candidates to change):
- It disappears when "Shift" key is pressed. See the attached "ShiftKey.mov" for more detail.
- It needs to press "Bksp" key twice to delete the last character. See the attached "DelKey.mov" for more detail.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install HipChat client for Windows 4.0.1629
- Type in some double byte characters and press "Shift" key
- Type in some double byte characters and press "Bksp" key to delete all the characters
Expected Results
- It does not disappear even when "Shift" key is pressed
- It needs to press "Bksp" key only once to delete the last character
Actual Results
- It disappears when "Shift" key is pressed
- It needs to press "Bksp" key twice to delete the last character
Workaround
There is no workaround reported so far.
