We are having a hard time in our team due to a missing feature on HipChat that affects a lot to its user experience.

Typical scenario: I finish work in the evening, I close browser tab for HipChat. The next morning I open the browser tab for HipChat and there is no hint that I have new messages, it looks as I haven´t received any message. But I have received many, and there are big chances I will miss most of them.

The only solution is to check each and every chat to see if I have new messages, but I have more than 20 chats (including private conversations), so this is unacceptable.

Skype has this feature. I (and my team) strongly HipChat should also have it.
