As a user, I would like to be able to "vote" with an emotion on a chat message so that users get a good overview of the reaction to a message and don't need extra parsing effort to understand the responses/reactions to a particular message.

      For example:

      • In the middle of a thread, one user posts "Lunch at Taco Bell?"
      • Other users are in the middle of a conversation about code that adds a new message every few seconds
      • 3 other people want to go to Taco Bell, and would like to upvote that message
      • Currently they respond @poster sounds good

      Example 2:

      • Poster1: "Who needs a ride, I have 3 seats in my car!"
      • Poster2: "I have two seats in mine"
      • It would be useful to add reactions to each.

      Example 3:

      • P3: "I like Pizza Hut better"
      • It would be useful to see the reactions to Pizza Hut vs Taco Bell to decide on a winner.

      Example 4:

      • Poster 1: "I made our build 10 times faster by porting the scripts to PHP!"
      • Reactions vary...

If we just use the chat stream for each reaction, each reaction scrolls up the buffer by an entire message line. This makes it more likely to miss information that scrolls up, and vertical space is used in a fashion that is not cleanly tied to the original message.
