Hi - I've been using HipChat for a while now, with my team. We were generally enjoying the apps (desktop and mobile), but had moved to Slack due to the lack of proper notification management in your mobile app. However, my company has recently just installed the server version and gently "requested" that we stop using Slack and start using HipChat again.

We were hopeful it wouldn't be the case, but your mobile app's notification system is still lacking.

Here's what I'm experiencing:

Scenario 1 (aka All the Time): App is closed - Receive a notification that I've got a new message or mention. Leave it till later. App shows red unread item badge. Open the app...where is the new message? I don't know, none of the rooms or people have any unread badges on them, leaving me to dig through each room or person to find it. Yuck.

Scenario 2 (aka Super Rare) App is on-screen - Receive a notification that I've got a new message or mention. Scan the list of rooms and people - oh, look, "Bill" has an unread badge showing a new message for me.

iOS - never shows in-app badge unless app is literally on screen.

Android - doesn't show in-app badge if app is not in memory; does show in-app badge if app is in memory or is on screen.

Do you have any plans to fix this? We'd greatly appreciate it.
