I've been using HipChat4 on Linux, with builds provided from the repo listed in HCPUB-340. Both this build:

      hipchat4-4.26.0.1655-1.x86_64

and the previous build (I wasn't using HipChat on Linux prior to this) will segfault when starting the client normally. That is, I will see this in the logs on my Linux box:

      HipChat.bin[5256]: segfault at 8 ip 00007f76b426822f sp 00007ffd0794e280 error 4 in libdrm_nouveau.so.2.0.0[7f76b4264000+7000]

      after the segfault occurs.

The workaround that I've been using for the past few months is to start HipChat4 from the command line with the '--disable-gpu' option. And that works perfectly fine.

My machine info is as follows:

      Linux distro/version: Fedora 24
      Kernel: 4.6.6-300.fc24.x86_64
kernel display driver: nouveau (as shipped with the kernel)
      xorg-nouveau driver:  xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.12-4.fc24.x86_64
      DRM:  libdrm-2.4.70-1.fc24.x86_64

      Thanks,

      -Chad
