      Problem Definition

      Currently HipChat protects its transmission channel using 256-bit SSL encryption to transmit the data and files. However, chat and file data is decrypted and stored by the HipChat platform in order to provide search and other features.

      Suggested Solution

      Implement end-to-end encryption so transmitted data is only decrypted by the sender and the receiver.
