Windows client: Fails to connect when set to launch on startup

      Summary

      If the Windows client is set to launch on startup, the client may fail to connect to the HipChat service

      Environment

      • Windows 4.0.1648, 4.0.1649
      • Windows 7/10

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Add HipChat to the Startup folder in Windows
      2. Restart machine
      3. Login to your Windows account
      4. Allow HipChat to start up

      Expected Results

      HipChat Windows client launches and successfully connects

      Actual Results

      HipChat will try to load, but eventually time out with a failure to connect. When looking at the client logfiles, a line indicating the following can be found:

      Critical: [14:14:27][js][:412] Uncaught ReferenceError: HipChatClient is not defined

      Workaround

      Completely Quitting and relaunching the client allows for successful connection
