It is possible in JIRA to use customized keys for the project. In this case the Smart Commits are not working as the pattern used for the key (underscore for example) is not matched by the regular expression recognizing JIRA keys.
This feature would provide a way to match customized JIRA keys. It would probably require to store on the FishEye the different patterns used and synch them to stay up-to-date in case they are modified.
There are also some concerns around the fact that the JIRA FishEye plugin could catch words and expressions that are not supposed to be issues if we go down that path.
