Currently, the git style diff detects one of the files in binary and produces a binary patch, which we interpret to mean the current rev is binary - probably need to look at the file contents instead.

In addition, this causes the line count to be wrong - the text version of the file will have a line count of 0, and all subsequent mods will add/remove from that.
