Crowd users often lost their local group membership due to the ongoing bug CWD-4849 if the directory sync is unable to find the users, but the users reappear in the subsequent synchronisation.

Therefore, it would be useful to have an option inside the User Directory Connector Configuration to keep LDAP users and groups inside the cwd_user and cwd_group table although the users or groups could not be found during the directory synchronisation.

A condition around this might be if the search for users in scope (such as a group) returns 0 members.  This may be due to a host of factors not limited to the following examples:

            • AD or AD connector misconfiguration.
            • Search group has been accidentally deleted in AD.
            • The OU search path has been relocated to an alternative location.  (Such as restructuring OUs)

We have suffered from the last two issues.
