    Description

Currently the following document suggests using com.atlassian.crowd and setting it to Debug level, to help debug the crowd package.

While enabling this for troubleshooting synchonisation would work, the amount of logs being recorded is huge as the package will include all the other child packages that might not be related to synchronisation troubleshooting

      At the moment, com.atlassian.crowd reads:

This is the parent of the crowd package loggers. Any children which do not have a level assigned to them will inherit the level from their parent. This logger should be set to DEBUG only if you are investigating SSO issues.

For synchronisation issues, it is best to enable specific child packages (instead of the com.atlassian.crowd parent package) related to the synchronisation process such as:

      com.atlassian.crowd.dao.directory
      com.atlassian.crowd.directory.ldap
      com.atlassian.crowd.directory.DbCachingRemoteChangeOperations
      com.atlassian.crowd.directory.DirectoryCacheImplUsingChangeOperations

Enabling the above will only display relevant information regarding synchronisation.

       Suggestion:

Adding a section in the above document specific to troubleshooting synchronisation errors would help speed up troubleshooting.
