Summary

When connecting to a database on another server the setup wizard fails to connect.

Environment

• MySQL
• Crowd 2.12.0

Steps to Reproduce

1. Run the setup wizard
2. Try to connect to a db on another server

   Expected Results

   The setup wizard will use the credentials in the form.

   Actual Results

   The below exception is thrown in the atlassian-crowd.log file:
   The error message in the log when the host is specified is:

   Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Access denied for user 'confuser@172.20.52.46'@'anns-mbp.office.atlassian.com' (using password: YES)

   If the username is put in with no parameters, the error message is:

   Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Access denied for user 'confuser'@'anns-mbp.office.atlassian.com' (using password: YES)
   

   Notes

• The setup works fine with MySQL on localhost.
• See attached screen shot for the error in the UI.

No workaround at this time.
