antti.plathan Close - I said we use Crowd's technology in Atlassian Cloud, and that we intend for many of those features to make their way back into Crowd the product (and/or into our other products, depending the feature), though I admit that speeding up the rate that those features come to Crowd is certainly an area we can improve in. As far it being abandoned, we released a new version (2.8.0) in the last few months, and we're planning a point release soon.

I think Atlassian has abandoned Crowd years ago. Its development is nonexistent. I was able to to talk with one of the developers in last Summit, and he told Crowd's technology is indeed used in Atlassian's cloud infrastructure, but unfortunately features don't trickle back to the productized Crowd.

Strange that nobody else wants to copy a user with all details except name, email and user name.

One more vote. Duplicating users and his groups/attributes would be a real nice feature.

Our organization uses almost all Atlassian products, and users are managed using Crowd. We have 3000+ employees, even though not all of them use Jira, Confluence or other development tools. But the sheer number of users and their various needs have created a big number of access lists that we have to manage in Crowd. A typical user belongs to 10+ groups. This makes creating a new user a pain, especially as you cannot add multiple groups simultaneously (at least when using search). User management would be much easier, if I could clone an existing user and use its permissions for defaults for the user being created.
