Synchronization Failure - DNS Lookup Attempted for Base DN

Crowd appears to do a DNS lookup of the configured Base DN and it fails to synchronize with the LDAP server.

1. The same LDAP can be browsed using Apache Directory Studio
2. Integrated Crowd in JIRA works fine with the same LDAP server.
   The LDAP connection settings use an IP address for connecting (for example: ldap://10.1.1.1:389).

The reason being, Crowd is attempting a DNS lookup of base DN (for example is the base DN was dc=abc,dc=def,dc=com, crowd attempts to do DNS lookup of adc.def.com which does not exist and fails).
