You have found the correct link, which details at how to install the plugin.

In addition, you will need to follow the instructions on these pages:

            Hi Justin,

I have downloaded and installed Crowd version 1.2, but I'm a little confused as to how to set up the NTLM authentication with Confluence?
            Should I follow this:
            http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/3.2.3.1+Configuring+Confluence+for+NTLM+SSO

My aim is to achieve the below:

The Confluence NTLM plugin enables the following authentication scenario:

            • A user in a Windows domain logs into the Windows network, using their Active Directory username/password.
            • Then, when they open Confluence in an Internet Explorer browser, they are seamlessly logged into Confluence.

The Crowd component then allows you to manage all users and groups in Active Directory. Crowd automatically ensures that users and groups are synchronised between AD and Confluence. For example, if a user/group is added/deleted from AD it will be automatically added/deleted from Confluence.

I guess my question is, how do I use/configure the new built in NTLM SSO authentication?
Can you point me to a document or procedure, or give me a few pointers?

            Regards,
            Roger

We were going to release on Monday of this week (19th), however because of the short week in the USA with Thanksgiving we have pushed the release date until the 26th.

            Cheers,

            Justen Stepka

            Hi Justen,

I've noticed that you have resolved this issue, and that you have it up and working, and it will be included in Crowd version 1.2.
This is great news as I am hoping to implement this feature, so that Crowd can manage my Confluence users, and automatically log them in!

I'm really looking forward to getting a copy and trying this out!
Is there a release date for Crowd 1.2?

            Regards,
            Roger

With the implementation we have tested a traditional authentication approach was found to work as well when NTLM authentication was not possible.

            Regards,

            Hi,

Can I ask what happens when users are at home, not in the office? Does it fallback nicely to username/password signon? Also, what happens when half of our users are in Active Directory and half are in a non-AD directory? Can the non-AD users still signon with username/password?

            Damon.

This has been tested and is working.

This will be released with Crowd 1.2.

We are going to look at what it would take to get this into the next release. An environment has been configured and we will see what comes out from our analysis later this week.
