With Crowd 1.6 we are introducing new levels of server-side caching, with configuration options per directory connector. To avoid confusion, we should re-word the label and description for the checkbox which enables/disables the 'has access' cache. The checkbox is on the "General Options" screen of the "Administration" tab.
CURRENT WORDING:
Label: Enable Data Caching:
Description: Caching is used to store run-time authentication and authorisation rules which can be expensive to calculate. Recommended settings: Disable during development cycles; enable for production environments.
SUGGESTED NEW WORDING:
Label: Enable Authorisation Cache
Description: If checked, Crowd will cache a user's authentication and per-application permissions for a specified period. Recommended setting: Enabled, for vastly better performance. Disable only if you need immediate results when removing users or their permissions.
