Add Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) support to the Atlassian Rovo MCP Server

XMLWordPrintable

      Please move to JRACLOUD:

Currently, the Atlassian Rovo MCP Server allows AI agents to interact with Jira issues and Confluence pages. However, it lacks integration with Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps), which is a critical tool for high-level planning in Jira Cloud Premium and Enterprise 1.

      Use Case:
As a user of Jira Plans, I want my AI agent to be able to:

      • Summarize Plan Status: Ask the agent for a high-level status of a specific plan, including progress on initiatives and cross-team dependencies 1.
      • Query Capacity: Ask questions about team capacity and velocity directly within the plan 1.
      • Update Plans: Use natural language to adjust target dates or add issues to a plan without leaving my IDE or chat client 2.

      Impact:
Integrating Jira Plans with the MCP Server would bridge the gap between individual task management and high-level strategic planning, allowing teams to manage their entire roadmap through AI-driven natural language commands.
