Currently there are only two states for a comment or defect that requires resolution: Unresolved or Resolved. This does not allow the flexibility of a reviewer reporting an issue, an author indicating they have fixed the issue, and the reviewer confirming that the issue has been resolved.
Adding a new "Verify" action with a "Verified" state after "Resolved" would be extremely beneficial for the workflow of managing comments and defects. It would allow a reviewer the ability to ignore all previously verified comments and defects, instead of having to dig through all resolved comments and defects to find the ones most recently resolved. It also allows the author a logical way of keeping track of which comments and defects they have already addressed without impeding the reviewers workflow. It should also be possible to take a comment or defect from "Verified" back to "Unresolved" state in the event that the author re-introduces a previously addressed issue.
