Comment workflow in Crucible 4:

• Type in the comment
• Check an additional "Needs resolution" check box to have your comment taken seriously
• Post it

Since the vast majority of comments are things we do want resolved, I think that new comments should be marked as unresolved by default.

This is also how it is on other sites with a similar workflow, such as Google Docs.

 

If there is someone out there who posts comments that don't need to be resolved, like posting memes or jokes in their comments, then letting them manually uncheck the box is fine. They're the minority anyway, and they're already wasting time by posting such comments, so a little additional time to check a box is not going to hurt.
