Description
Crucible Project Configuration:
- Three users involved: user1, user2 and user3
- Edited the default Permission Scheme in order to make the Reviewer role be able to approve and reject a review:
Permissions Users / Groups / Review Roles Approve Review Roles: Moderator, Reviewer Reject Review Roles: Moderator, Reviewer - Edited the CR Crucible project and:
- Ensured that it is using the default Permission Scheme.
- Enabled the Moderator role for that project, selecting user1 as default moderator
- Selected user2 and user3 as Default reviewers
First test, with a Default Moderator selected
Review CR-1 created with user1:
- The Add content screen shows buttons Add More Content, Edit Details, Abandon Review, Start Review and Done
- Clicked Done and the default reviewers user2 and user3 were added to the review. user1 shows up as Author & Moderator
- Clicked Start Review and it was sent to reviewers user2 and user3
- Logged out, then logged in as user2 / user3 and accessed CR-1, whose status is OPEN.
- Expected: see Approve and Reject buttons, but none got displayed. Just Complete button was displayed.
Review CR-2 created with user3:
- The Add content screen shows buttons Add More Content, Edit Details, Abandon Review, Send to Moderator and Done
- Clicked Done, and user3 shows up only as Author, user1 shows up as Moderator, and user2 shows up as Reviewer.
- Expected: as reviewers are allowed to Approve and Reject reviews, user3 should not need to click Send to Moderator for approval / rejection.
Second test, keeping the Moderator role enabled but removing user1 as Default moderator on that Crucible project
Review CR-3 created with user1:
- The Add content screen shows buttons Add More Content, Edit Details, Abandon Review, Start Review and Done
- Clicked Done and the default reviewers user2 and user3 were added to the review. user1 shows up as Author & Moderator
- Clicked Start Review and it was sent to reviewers user2 and user3
- Logged out, then logged in as user2 / user3 and accessed CR-3, whose status is OPEN.
- Expected: see Approve and Reject buttons, but none got displayed. Just Complete button was displayed.
Review CR-4 created with user2:
- The Add content screen shows buttons Add More Content, Edit Details, Abandon Review, Start Review and Done
- Clicked Done, and user2 shows up as Author and Moderator, user3 shows up as Reviewer, and user1 was not listed
- Expected: see Approve and Reject buttons, but none got displayed. Just Edit Details and Start Review buttons were displayed.
- Clicked Start Review
- Logged out, then logged in with user3
- Expected: see Approve and Reject buttons, but none got displayed. Just Complete button was displayed.
Result:
It doesn't matter if there is a Moderator selected or not. Reviewers cannot ever Approve / Reject reviews.
