You have to truncate somewhere, but the existing truncation is too severe, leading to not being able to distinguish between repos with similar names:

A good idea would also be a tooltip that would show the full name when truncated when one hovers over it - both in the dropdown and in the field itself.

So the full solution would be:

• An increase in the truncation size.
• A tooltip for names that end up truncated anyway.
