There must be a way to export the information shown in the Reviews tab to an excel file, similar to the excel export in the Jira issue navigator.

The point is not to export all the review data (e.g. comments). That may be a good idea, but would be a separate feature request. Just follow the model of the Jira issue navigator!

[CRUC-6437] Implement excel export for crucible review metadata.

There is already a related ticket, which sould be used to export the comments.
There is also a plug-in to extend the XLS export to include comments in the Excel export. So yes, this is not the core request of this ticket, but it is closely related and might be solved if this feature request has been taken into account.

Hey Hans-Jürgen Tappe, could you create a separate feature request for what you want? I explicitly do not want to export all the review data into excel (e.g. comments), just the basic attributes of the review (e.g. key, title, reviewers, status). Compare this to the Jira excel export, which doesn't export, say, comments either. If you want that in Jira the only way is export as word. The feature you want is different from what I want in this issue.

            Regards,
            David

We would actually need to have either a singlepage view of the complete review (including the review comments) which we could print to PDF - or an Excel or PDF export of the complete review (including the review details), which we could persist and deliver to auditing organizations.

I'd love to explore more on this type of feature, especially to enhance the reporting capabilities of Crucible. Realistically I don't think that we are going to be able to tackle this before the beginning of the next year due to current priorities but it is one of our focus area.

            Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Lantiq, sure. I have created a new request for what i want.

if you could give me a temporary workaround while you implement this feature, that would be great.

How do I export all crucible review comments of a project to excel?
            I am using crucible v2.7.7

I want to export all (500-1000) review comments / defects of a project, with all details like Review ID, reviewer name, creation date and all custom fields (crucible defect classifications : ranking, classification etc) as separate columns in an excel sheet.

Crucible doesnt seem to give me this option by default.

I tried to use a MS SQL query to directly get the data from the DB, but am unable to find the tables where the Crucible "Defect Classification" fields are stored.

Is there an easier way to get this data?
This is needed in our organization for varoius other reports.
Now getting this data out is a major overhead and team is questioning the usage of crucible because of this overhead.

Sten, just an observation: You might have trouble understanding the requirements here because you are thinking of crucible as a review tool, not as a review management tool. Jira is clearly an issue management tool - i.e. it serves not just for opening and closing issues but for the entire management of issues in an organization. The needs for management features may not be as pressing for reviews as for issues, but they are there all the same!

            Hi Sten,

We're looking here for the list of reviews with fields such as review key, reviews, etc - not the list of reviews linked to a particular issue. Just think in terms of the Jira issue navigator, but the objects are reviews, not issues. (We discussed this already in CRC-4848. I'm not asking for all of that now, just the excel export)

The use case is making a report (e.g. a chart) about the adoption of Crucible in different areas of development. I uploaded an excel file to give you an idea. The raw data had to be put together by hand, using the existing review query functionality - something one would normally expect the tool to do.

            Regards,
            David

P.S. Looking forward to seeing you in Munich on 25 April!
