Currently Crucible uses embedded HSQL DB. There is no way to deploy it with other standard (supporting JDBC) database (RDBMS).
It causes some anxiety among certain customers as they are forced to use another DB engine which they may not like.
With HSQL it is somewhat problematic to achieve more advanced configurations supporting high-availability, replication, etc.
