link a CQ topic to a Hipchat room

            Hi Everyone,
            Thank you for your feedback and patience on this issue. We're pleased to say that in the upcoming Confluence Questions 2.1 release we will have the ability to get notifications for questions asked in a particular space in a HipChat room. We expect the release to come out within a month or so.

            Whilst this doesn't directly solve this issue, this feature request was raised well before Confluence Questions 2.0 - which introduced the ability to ask questions in spaces. Within the Spaces Integration screen (which a Space admin has access to) they can now configure this:

            Once that happens all notifications from the space will be sent to the room

            I suspect that there are a few customers who did want topic-specific linking (prior to the Space Questions improvements), for that I've opened another ticket to track the demand for this: CQ-1914. In general we're going to be focusing more of our efforts on space-specific integration as that's where we've found the most traction.

            • investigate whether or not the Confluence Hipchat plugin exposes the API key and ability to post messages, add it if necessary
            • topic dialog UI to select a Hipchat channel
            • select a single channel only
            • don't show the Hipchat options if there is no API token or no hipchat plugin installed
