In some use cases, Confluence is used as a social intranet.
It will be good if a user does not want to see comments from certain people; they can choose to hide (or block) those comments so they no longer appear for them.
One possible solution is to have a “block” or “ignore” button on the user's profile page that any other user can click on. When this button is clicked, the user will no longer see the target user's comments on any Confluence page.
For example, there are three users: userA, userB, and userC.
- Before the button was clicked, three users could see all comments.
- At one point, userA doesn't want to see the comment from userB anymore, then userA navigates to userB's user profile and clicks the "block” (or “ignore”) button.
- After the button is clicked, userA can see the comment from userC, but not userB anymore.
- If userA clicks the button again on userB's profile page, the comment from userB appears again.
