      Issue Summary

While adjusting the image size in Confluence edit mode, the small option (Resize image to small and link to the original) is bigger than the Original option if the image is a long horizontal shape as below.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Attach an image that is very wide and short in height as in the example image above.
      2. In edit mode, change the image size.
      3. Observe the option, ("Resize image to small and link to the original"), will become bigger than the Original size. It is incorrect that the purpose of the small option should let the user render the small image.

Please refer to the screen video below for the issue reproduction:

      Expected Results

If we click the small/medium/large buttons, the result of the small option should be smaller than the original option.

      Actual Results

The image size is controlled by the height when using the button to resize it, which causes confusion that the small option is bigger than the Original option while adjusting the image size

      original
      <p><ac:image><ri:attachment ri:filename="test_image.jpeg" /></ac:image></p>

      small
      <p><ac:image ac:thumbnail="true" ac:height="150"><ri:attachment ri:filename="test_image.jpeg" /></ac:image></p>

      medium
      <p><ac:image ac:height="250"><ri:attachment ri:filename="test_image.jpeg" /></ac:image></p>

      big
      <p><ac:image ac:height="400"><ri:attachment ri:filename="test_image.jpeg" /></ac:image></p>

      Workaround

      • The image can be resized by dragging
      • We can also use the source editor to change the size of the image through the storage format.
