If you have any <tag> elements in your wiki markup, which would be expected to be rendered directly as seen, not as HTML, they disappear when you switch to the RTE. I expect that this is due to the wiki content not being HTML-escaped correctly in the conversion process, so the RTE thinks the content is a real tag.
