When you perform a task like importing a space you get a list of breadcrumbs as follows:

Dashboard > Running task > Importing data

When you click "Running task" though, the Confluence admin menu items are shown but the breadcrumb is changed to:

Running task > Importing data

Should the Dashboard be listed in there? As soon as you click on any of the admin menu items it's shown again like normal.
