Currently if I do [page^file.ext] the link that is generated takes me to a list of attachments for that page. Personally, I think it would be better if it took you directly to the file itself so clicking on it would bring up the save / open dialog box.

This would make more sense to my users when I tell them that they can "click here to download a xls spreadsheet" in one click rather than two.
