Create/edit page | Status macro : Missing heading semantics

XMLWordPrintable

    Issue Summary

On the "Create/ edit page | Status macro" page, the "Preview" text is not semantically declared as a heading.

Note: Similar issues were observed in the "Table of contents", "Select macro", and so on, modal dialogs. This is not a high priority issue. Nonetheless, it will enhance the user's experience if the text in the "Preview" frame is too lengthy.

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Open Confluence.
    2. Navigate onto the "Create" link in the header and activate it.
    3. Navigate onto the "Insert more content" > "Status" buttons and activate them.
    4. Navigate onto the mentioned instance and inspect its code.
    5. Observe that the mentioned instance is not semantically declared as a heading.

    Actual Results

The "Preview" text is not semantically declared as a heading. As a result, screen reader users found it difficult to understand the page’s content structure.

    Expected Results

When any element title or categorize any content, it should semantically be declared as a heading. Mark up the above text using the appropriate HTML heading markup. As well, use headings with appropriate heading levels. Make sure that the heading levels correctly communicate the page's structure, such as the parent-child relationship between the headings.

    Code Snippet:

    <h2>Preview</h2>

    Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
