Issue Summary
Currently, the "Estimate reading time" below the page title doesn't take into consideration any content inserted using macros such as "Include Page". It will be great to improve the macro to calculate the estimate reading time based on the content of the page including content of the included macros.
This limitation is also highlighted in the Create and Edit Pages:
Below the title of a Confluence page, you’ll find page information, including the estimated time to read its contents. This is based on the average reading speed of 265 words per minute, so it might take you less or more time than estimated. The word count includes words inside tables, and adds extra time for images (starting with 12 seconds for the first first image). It cannot count content inside macros. The read time is displayed in minutes, and is not shown while you’re editing a page.
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to a page
- Insert some text > Save
- Take a note of the Estimate reading time under the page title
- Edit the page >> Insert content from another page using "Include Page macro"
- Save the page >> Notice that the "Estimate Reading time" hasn't changed
Expected Results
Estimate Reading time should count the content of the macros as well
Actual Results
Content of macros isn't calculated in Estimate Reading time
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
