Description
Problem Definition
During Attachment Upload, Companion App did not log anything when a newer version of the files is found
Tested Environments
- Confluence 7.19.19
- Companion App 2.0.1
Steps to Reproduce
The issue can be replicated with 2 users following the scenarios below:
- User A starts editing an attachment in Confluence via Companion App
- After User A saved some changes to the file, the Upload option shows up, allowing the changes to be uploaded to Confluence
- Do not close the editing app, and continue to edit the same file
- User B uploads a new version of the same file(same file name, same page) onto the page
- at this point, User A will not be aware of the attachment version has changed
- User A then save the changes again, and attempts to Upload the changes
- From the Companion App UI, the warning below is shown:
Someone uploaded a newer version of this file 2 minutes ago
However, there is nothing recorded in the companion.log for this warning, making troubleshooting harder to notice if there's an issue.
Suggested Improvement
Companion App should print the information about:
- The upload attempt has failed
- The reason why it has failed, with information such as "history version mismatch"
