As a system administrator of a large environment, I would like to be able to configure more efficient storage use when generating temporary files, such as whole space PDF exports and single or multi space XML backups. Right now, I can specify this through the struts.multipart.saveDir to a path that includes the {$localHome} path only.

If it is possible to allow for an explicit declaration outside of {$localHome} then we would be able to use alternate filesystems for cost control when performing these kinds of exports.
