Description
Hi,
I'd like to express our concern about this change in Confluence 8.8.
Disabling the possibility to upload apps from a file or an URL is a massive issue for us.
We often introduce features to our apps that are requested by customers with partly quite complex enviroments that cannot be easily reproduced. So we build these features and ask the customers to validate pre-builds on their systems.
We also had some situations where customers reported bugs only occuring in very specific situations we could not reproduce. Here it was really important to send fixed builds to customers for verification and deliver a quick solution before releasing it to the marketplace.
With this change, this procedure is no longer possible or at least much more difficult. The issue is not mainly that a dark feature needs to be enabled but that enabling it requires a restart. So please consider implementing this "sideloading-protection" in a way that it can be changed without restarting the instance.
