Create page | Restrictions : Inappropriate heading structure

XMLWordPrintable

    Issue Summary

On the "Create page |Restrictions" page, the "Restrictions", and "Need to limit who can see this?" (that appears on selecting the "Everyone can view and edit" option in the "Manage restrictions" combobox) are inappropriately defined as heading level 2 and heading level 6.

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Navigate onto the above mentioned page.
    2. Navigate onto the "Managed restrictions" combobox.
    3. Select the "Everyone can view and edit" option.
    4. Navigate onto the mentioned instance and inspect its code.
    5. Observe that the mentioned instance uses inappropriate heading level.

    Actual Results

The "Restrictions", and "Need to limit who can see this?" headings do not follow the visual structure of the page. They are inappropriately defined as heading level 2 and heading level 6 instead of heading level 1 and heading level 2. As a result, screen reader users found it difficult to understand the page’s content structure.

    Expected Result

The heading levels should correctly convey the relationship between the headings, such as the parent-child relationship between the headings. Provide an appropriate heading level to the mentioned heading text, such as <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, and so on.

    Code snippet

    <h1>Restrictions</h1>
<h2>Need to limit who can see this</h2>

    Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
